How To - Servo 360 Mod

I get a lot of question as to how i did the servo mod for my rc rover. That is involving modifying a normal 9g servo to be able to turn freely on both direction.
I got the tips from a youtube channel rctestflight which happens to be the same person i got the idea to build the rc rover. The build is really cool (you can ask my son) and the modification needed is simple. Anyone with a spare servo and couple of old broken one could easily make it.

Running Turnigy/Flysky 9x on 2s 7.4v

I found out from the reading that i've done that the Turnigy/Flysky 9x transmitter can be operated using just 2s 7.4v lipo setup. Which result in no less the performance of the one with a 3s 11.1v battery. Provided you have flash your transmitter with the custom firmware ie. ER9x. This is due to the option to set your transmitter low battery alarm which you can't achieve with the stock firmware.

Because I'm cheap and I have a couple 2s lipo around, I did this simple mod to the battery balance plug so it can be used directly in the transmitter.

Servo Driven Rover

The idea was not originally mine as i found it on the youtube, posted by rctestflight on my quest searching something simple for my son to play with. Interesting enough it uses small servos for drive which i have laying around and foam board as the skeletons. Seeing it as a great couple of hour project, i proceed to make it in one afternoon. Here is my way of doing it.
